Riccardo studies how make management decisions in presence of risks with applications in manufacturing, services, and supply chains. His current research revolves around three main questions:
- How to dynamically manage delays in manufacturing, projects, and supply chains through expediting?
- How to quote prices and lead times in manufacturing and service systems in presence of uncertainty?
- How to mitigate disruptions and delays in global supply chains?
To approach these questions, he mainly uses Operational Research techniques, such as Markov decision processes, queueing theory, and discrete event simulation. You can find some of his selected publications here.
